(RoyalPatriot.com )- Alec Baldwin will be charged with involuntary manslaughter for firing the shot that killed Hutchins, New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced last week. However, the Santa Fe District Attorney’s Office claims that there is no such charge for what Baldwin is alleged to have done to Souza.
On the set of the movie “Rust,” director Joel Souza was hit by the same gunshot that killed cameraman Halyna Hutchins, but the district attorney has stated that actor and producer Alec Baldwin won’t be held accountable for it.
In a 500-page investigation on the incident sent to prosecutors in October, the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office concluded that Baldwin had shot a pistol loaded with live ammo without realizing it and that no one else had done so with the intention of damage.
The D.A. said that “unintentional battery” was the only charge that made sense in light of the available evidence. However, battery calls for purpose, and Baldwin’s prosecution in the Hutchins incident is based entirely on the supposition — and Baldwin’s assertion — that the defendant did not plan to shoot anybody.
“A review of the available law enforcement records revealed no persuasive evidence that the gun was purposefully loaded on set with live bullets. The study said that the method of death is most appropriately categorized as an accident based on all available facts, including the lack of evident intent to damage or cause death.
Baldwin has continually denied any guilt and told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that although someone had to bear responsibility for the shooting, it should not be him.
“I believe that someone is to blame for what occurred; I won’t name who, but I am certain that it is not me.” Baldwin adamantly maintained that he had never fired the trigger and claimed, “I may have killed myself if I believed I was at fault, and I don’t say that lightly.”
Involuntary manslaughter charges will be brought against armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed, and the Carmack-Alwies office has disclosed that first assistant director David Halls has already consented to enter a guilty plea to reckless use of a dangerous weapon.
