Fishermen in the country of Malaysia believe that they may have recently discovered the world’s largest crocodile on camera. In a recent video posted on a TikTok account, a fisherman from that country uploaded footage of a massive saltwater crocodile surrounded by mangroves. The caption read: “biggest crocodile ever seen caught on camera”. The fisherman believes the crocodile he saw could beat the world record that had been captured in the Philippines by a croc named Lolong in 2011. Lolong at a fisherman in that country and therefore had been hunted down and captured as a result. Lolong had measured 20.24 feet and weighed a colossal 2,370 pounds. Instead of being killed, it was allowed to live in captivity until it naturally passed away and still retains its place as the largest crocodile ever encountered in the Guinness World Record Books.
Crocodiles are extremely dangerous animals. Over the summer, one gator was killed in India after murdering a 14 year old boy. The boy, named Ankit Kumar was bathing with his family in the River Ganges before the crocodile attacked and killed him on the 13th of June of this calendar year. People had tried to save the boy, but it was too late. The crocodile was later lured from the water and killed.
In Florida, a drunk man behind a bar had his arm torn off by a ten and a half foot gator after venturing close to the water near a pond by Banditos Bar in Port Charlotte. He was 23 years old and was likely saved by a fellow bar goer who acted quickly, pulling him to safety and applying a tourniquet to his arm. The incident occurred at 1:45 a.m.. The gator was then captured and humanely exterminated near the bar following the harrowing incident. It is unclear if the man decided to go for a swim or was pulled in the pond by the gator.
