Wife Shoots Man Threatening Her Husband Dead

An Indiana wife shot a man who was pointing a gun at her husband, according to The Blaze. The threat, identified as 45-year-old Michael Chastain, reportedly drove through the front yard, exited the vehicle, grabbed the homeowner, forced him to the ground, and pointed a gun at his head. When the homeowner’s wife saw this play out, she grabbed her gun and stopped the threat.

Indiana State Police released a statement explaining that they received a call around 6:30 p.m. to head to the 7700 block of Organ Springs Road in Salem. Upon arriving, Chastain was found with a wound and was pronounced dead after being taken to Saint Vincent Hospital.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and will be referred to the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office. The threat was reportedly well-known in the area and had a criminal background. He also previously dated the homeowners’ daughter, but police are unsure why he targeted the father because she no longer lives at home.

This incident comes at a time when the Second Amendment is under attack in a push to eradicate firearms from citizens’ possession. The amendment was originally written to prevent government tyranny. President Joe Biden has remarked several times that owning firearms is useless because it does not protect you from the federal government, which has F-15s.

This Biden represents a stark contrast from the one in 1985. When he was a Senate Judiciary Committee member, Biden sided with Republicans and the NRA in a debate over the Firearms Owners Protection Act, according to American Pigeon.

“I have never believed that additional gun control or federal registration of guns would reduce crime. I am convinced that a criminal who wants a firearm can get one through illegal, nontraceable, unregistered sources, with or without gun control,” he said.
