(RoyalPatriot.com )- A newly released surveillance video has confirmed that a school aide did not prop open the door that allowed the mass murderer to enter Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas in May.
Col. Steven McCraw, the director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, first claimed that the shooter entered the school through a door Marin left ajar. However, the department later clarified that the shooter entered through an unlocked door.
School aide Emilia “Amy” Marin, who said she was mentally and emotionally scarred by the since-retracted accusation, had been helping bring in food for a party when the gunman arrived at the school.
In an interview with ABC News’s “Good Morning America,” Marin opened up about the trauma she experienced after the initial false claim.
ABC aired video footage from the school showing that Marin did everything right. Marin ran to call 911 after seeing the shooter crash his car into a ditch, believing the driver was having a medical emergency. Marin is seen on the footage kicking away the rock that had propped the door open when the gunman began shooting.
Marin told “Good Morning America” that she has been “suffering mentally” and emotionally since she was initially accused of leaving the door open, adding “I died that day.”
In a statement to “Good Morning America,” Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Travis Considine said after the department reported that an “unnamed teacher” used a rock to prop the door open, but it was later determined that the same person removed the rock and closed the door before the shooter arrived at the building, only the door was unlocked.
Considine explained that the department “corrected this error in public announcements and testimony” and had apologized to Marin and her family “for the additional grief this has caused to an already horrific situation.”
