Turkish Immigrant Explains How Shockingly Easy to Cross Border

Fox News’ Bill Melugin has spent months covering the border. His conversation with a Turkish illegal immigrant this week was frightening.

The Turk went on to justify Americans’ concerns by detailing how he crossed the border with relative ease.  He makes the valid argument that the United States is an easy target for any nutjob or terrorist.

A more significant number of our elected representatives seem to be less concerned about the absence of border security than the illegal migrants are.

He asserts that no background check or security check was conducted. Instead, the Turk was given an unenforceable notice to appear and basically waved through. Those are the immigration policies that Joe Biden has put into place. It’s ridiculous that this issue had to be brought to light by a recent border crosser.

Meanwhile, in Arizona, the Tucson Sector is once again the most illegal migrant encounter hotspot along Arizona’s southwest border with Mexico after a brief respite from the previous influx. This week, the number of migrants apprehended for unlawfully entering the US between entry points reached 7,400. Just over 6,000 people were apprehended in the San Diego, California, Sector.

Between May 15th and 24th, over 6 thousand illegal migrants were apprehended by the San Diego Sector, relegating them to second place. It is a decrease from over 8,000 the week before.

This occurs at a time when the Southwest border has seen a dramatic drop in migrant apprehensions, according to Border Patrol authorities.  The number of migrants apprehended dropped 54% in the first week of May to 3,770 each day on average. The number of illegal migrants detained in May might drop to about 116,000 if this trend continues. If this number holds, it will be the lowest total since the first full month of President Joe Biden’s administration.
