Donald Trump said he is “entitled” to launch personal attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris because he is angry with her, and because she labeled him “weird.” The former President convened a press conference at this Bedminster, New Jersey, estate and spoke for more than 40 minutes before inviting questions from reporters. When asked if he felt personal attacks on Harris, including about her racial identity, were helpful to his election campaign, he said he had every right to be angry, given the direction she and Joe Biden had taken the country.
“I think I’m entitled to personal attacks. I don’t have a lot of respect for her,” he said before adding that the Vice President is of low intelligence and will be a terrible leader. Trump went on to accuse Biden and Harris of trying to put him in prison, something he insisted had never happened in American history but is more likely to take place in a third-world country.
The former President complained at length about his unfair treatment by the mainstream media, which he said he could not understand because all he wanted to do was make his country great.
Mr. Trump has launched several verbal tirades at Kamala Harris, frequently describing her as “low IQ.” He made similar remarks about Biden and often uses insulting nicknames for journalists and Democratic lawmakers. For instance, he refers to California Governor Gavin Newsom as “Gavin Newscum.”
In some notable verbal slips, Trump stated that San Francisco was a great city 15 years ago, apparently not realizing that Newsom was the city’s Mayor at that time and Kamala Harris was its District Attorney.
Mr. Trump also appeared to make a verbal misstep when he warned Americans that Harris would turn the country into a communist “system where everyone has healthcare.”
The Harris campaign responded to the Bedminster event with sarcasm, saying, “We aren’t sure what we just watched, and neither is America.” Spokesperson James Singer stated that the former President had “huffed and puffed” and offered little of substance to the American people.
