It seems as though former President Donald Trump, who is also the presumptive Republican nominee for the upcoming November, has been having a field day with his Democratic opponent President Joe Biden’s recent verbal gaffes during a press conference at the NATO summit. At the summit, not only did Biden accidentally refer to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Russian President Vladamir Putin, but Biden also mistook his vice president’s name for former President Trump instead. In classic Trump style, the former president quickly took to social media to poke fun at Biden for one of many public gaffes.
Following the disastrous speech mistakes from Biden on Thursday, Trump took to his personal social media platform, Truth Social, to mock Biden for his mistakes. Trump uploaded a post to his page reiterating Biden’s mistake and calling the NATO summit Biden’s “Big Boy” press conference. Following this, Trump sarcastically congratulated Biden for his gaffe. Biden’s mistake of referring to VP Haris as Trump came after a reporter in the crowd asked Biden his opinion on Harris stepping up to the Presidency should Biden not be fit to serve out the rest of his time in office, let alone another four-year term following the November election.
Biden’s recent mistakes only add more fuel to the growing fire that is Democrats’ main concern about Biden stepping down from his position in office due to mental and physical health declines. For the majority of his presidency, Biden has had countless public mishaps, such as messing up important speeches, mistaking important figures’ names, seeming unaware of his surroundings and even falling while attempting to enter Air Force One. Following the June debate between Trump and Biden, much commotion has stirred amongst other Democrats as many of them have suggested that President Biden should step down from office, Biden has confidently stated he will continue to run for a second term in office against former President Trump.
