Trump Says “If I Run, He Won’t” Over Ron DeSantis In 2024

( )- While the country wonders whether former President Donald Trump will run again in 2024, pundits have also pondered what might happen if popular Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis decides he wants to take a shot at the presidency himself.

But during an interview with Brian Mudd, former President Trump suggested that if he were to run again, he doesn’t believe DeSantis will throw his hat in the ring – and it makes sense.

Can you imagine the most popular figure in the Republican party going head-to-head with perhaps the most popular Republican governor in the country? The Democrats would love it.

“I do think if I run, he won’t,” Trump said. “I know they try and create friction.”

Trump said that if DeSantis does still want to want to run then it’s fine by him, and that he thinks his team would still “win by a lot,” before praising him and saying that he has done a good job as governor.

It’s not the first time that Trump has indicated that he doesn’t believe he’ll be going head-to-head with DeSantis any time soon, arguing that he believes DeSantis would “drop out” of the race if he entered it.

During the interview with Mudd, Trump also reminded listeners that when Ron first came to him for an endorsement, his campaign didn’t have much money and he was at 3% in the polls. He said that, at first, he wasn’t so thrilled about the endorsement as people didn’t fully understand who he was and it might have been a difficult campaign.

“He was at 3% and 3% means you don’t have a chance,” Trump said, before adding that he then “went up like a rocket ship.”

DeSantis has long been rumored as a 2024 contender given his popularity in the state of Florida and throughout the rest of the country, but if he does decide to run, he may want to wait until 2028.
