Major Investment Across America
GE Aerospace’s newly-announced billion-dollar investment represents a significant boost to American manufacturing, doubling the company’s investment from the previous year. The aerospace giant will spread this massive funding across facilities in 16 states, creating a substantial economic impact in communities from coast to coast.
The investment will create 5,000 new American jobs, strengthening the domestic workforce in an industry crucial to both national security and economic prosperity. Specific allocations include $113 million in Greater Cincinnati, $70 million in Muskegon, Michigan, and $51 million in Auburn, Alabama, among other locations.
Remember when the Democrats said Trump would destroy the economy?
Strengthening Military Capabilities
A substantial portion of the investment will directly enhance America’s military capabilities, with $200 million earmarked for military engine production. This funding will be directed to facilities in Lynn, Massachusetts, and Madisonville, Kentucky, to support production of the T901 engines for Black Hawk and Apache helicopters.
CEO H. Lawrence Culp, Jr. emphasized the strategic importance of this investment, stating: “Investing in manufacturing and innovation is more critical than ever for the future of our industry and the communities where we operate. We are committed to helping our customers modernize and expand their fleets while scaling technologies that will truly define the future of flight.”
Securing America’s Aerospace Leadership
GE Aerospace has a storied history in American aviation, having built the first American jet engine. The company notes, “In October 1942, at Muroc Dry Lake, California, two I-A engines powered the historic first flight of a Bell XP-59A Airacomet aircraft, launching the United States into the Jet Age.”
Beyond manufacturing, GE Aerospace will invest over $100 million in its external supplier base to enhance production capabilities and reduce defects and supply chain issues. This comprehensive approach ensures that the entire aerospace ecosystem benefits from the company’s growth strategy, securing America’s competitive edge in global aerospace leadership.
This is what we call “winning”!
