Trump’s Accusations of Media Bias
Former President Donald Trump has intensified his criticism of media outlets, particularly targeting Fox News for what he perceives as biased coverage favoring Vice President Kamala Harris and his Republican primary opponents. In a series of statements, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the network’s handling of election-related news and debates.
It’s not the first time he’s said this about Fox News, by the way – and arguably, his criticism keeps the network in line.
On Sunday, the former president said that Fox News was guilty of airing too much coverage of Democrat campaigns. “Fox News keeps putting on Democrat ads, as part of their news program,” Trump said on Truth Social.
“Their soundbits are almost all of Harris and her Democrat friends, all of whom are on the shows. FOX NEWS IS NOT OUR FRIEND. It’s crazy!”
Trump’s most recent frustration extends beyond Fox News to other media entities. He particularly lambasted ABC News for their management of a debate involving Vice President Harris.
“I thought it was terrible from the standpoint of ABC,” Trump said.
Shifting Media Alliances
In an unexpected turn, Trump offered praise to CNN, a network he has frequently criticized in the past.
“CNN was much more honorable,” Trump remarked, drawing a stark contrast with his assessment of ABC News.
Bet you never thought he’d say that…
“Hard to believe how one-sided FoxNews is – What a difference from the past (Likewise The Wall Street Journal!). No wonder the Republican base no longer cares about them. It was all about Ron DeSantis, and now it’s the BIRDBRAIN SHOW, but the curtains are coming down on that one on Tuesday evening. MAGA!” Trump said.
What do you think – is Fox just trying to be balanced? Or should they be more staunch in their opposition to Democrats?
