In a disturbing escalation of political tensions, three women were shot early Wednesday morning at a Miami apartment complex following an argument over the recent election. The incident, which occurred near N.W. 5th Ave. and 19th Street, has left one woman fighting for her life with critical stomach injuries, while two others are in stable condition.
According to police reports, the altercation began among a group of people who had been drinking. What started as a heated discussion about the election quickly spiraled out of control when one individual retrieved a firearm from a nearby vehicle and opened fire on the group.

Suly Ashe, a resident of the area, recounted the terrifying moment when gunshots shattered the night’s silence. “I heard somebody screaming and didn’t want to open the door and put myself at risk. It sounded like four shots,” Ashe told reporters.
“It is horrible. Whoever is President now is President for all of us, whether we are Democrat or Republican. It doesn’t matter. It’s our country. It’s very sad that this happened,” Ashe added.
