Taylor Swift has made her feelings known about artificial intelligence (AI) images purporting to show her fans endorsing Donald Trump. The former President came under fire for sharing the photos, which showed the star’s fans wearing shirts saying “Swifties for Trump,” but social media users quickly rebuked him by pointing out that the photos were fakes. The 34-year-old singer has reportedly told her inner circle that Donald Trump has “lost it.”
Swift has not endorsed any candidate in this year’s Presidential election, but she did back Biden and Harris in 2020. A spokesperson told journalists, “If she didn’t support him [Trump] last time, she’s not going to support him now.”
Nevertheless, generated images appeared to suggest that Swifties have pivoted toward Donald Trump because ISIS supporters threatened to attack the star’s concerts in Austria, causing her to cancel a series of shows. Police in Vienna recently arrested a 19-year-old for plotting to blow up a Swift concert, and subsequent events in the UK saw significant security boosts.
Her European tour took Swift to Great Britain just weeks after a group of children were stabbed during a Taylor Swift dance class in England. Three young girls were murdered in the incident, and the singer invited their families and injured survivors to join her backstage after a London event.
Even though the images Trump shared were fake, there is some evidence to suggest that these incidents have caused a number of Swift fans to support the Republican candidate.
One such fan is Jenna Piwowarczyk from Wisconsin, who wore a “Swifties for Trump” shirt at a recent campaign rally. She uses her social media accounts to persuade fellow Swift devotees that its ok for them to hold conservative views and support conservative candidates.
Meanwhile, some commentators are questioning whether Taylor Swift will file a lawsuit against Donald Trump for falsely declaring that she supports him. Swift has previously rebuked the former President and said he has stirred up racism and white supremacy in America. The star has also been known to take legal action in the past. For instance, she issued a cease and desist letter to a college student who keeps a record of her travel on private jets.
