“Superman” Actor Will Not Play Superman Anymore

(RoyalPatriot.com )- Henry Cavill will not be Superman in the upcoming movie as DC boss James Gunn announced, according to The Daily Wire. Gunn reportedly hinted at another set of movies that he and co-head Peter Safran will be sharing more information on at the start of the new year.

He said that they have a slate ready to go that they are excited about, saying that the new Superman movie will be focusing on the hero’s early life, which is why Cavill will not be in it. However, Gunn did assure fans that he and the actor had spoken together about working together in the future. But that work will reportedly be on another role in “the comic book universe.”

Cavill responded to the statement on his Instagram, expressing disappointment about the decision.

“I just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran, and it’s sad news, everyone,” the actor posted to Instagram on Wednesday. “I will, after all, not be returning as Superman.”

The actor continued to say that he was told to announce his return by the studio prior to the hire but then the news broke that he would not be returning after all. He said that that is life, and it happens. But he also told fans that Superman will live on and that everything he stands for still exists.

Gunn has been at work with the new Superman for some time now, choosing to focus on his time as a reporter in Metropolis, according to Variety.

The news of cutting Cavill from the movie comes as Warner Bros. decided not to move ahead with a new “Wonder Woman” film directed by Patty Jenkins. Jenkins took to Twitter to say that she is open to a third project.
