Soros-Backed Official Confronted Over Audit

( )- While the focuses on national candidates, billionaire financier George Soros has been using his vast wealth to target local elections to much success.

Throughout the US, Soros-affiliated groups have been shoveling money into district attorney races and even elections for local county sheriffs.

This includes the current Sheriff of Maricopa County, Paul Penzone.

In 2016, Penzone defeated former 6-term Sheriff Joe Arpaio with a helpful assist from Soros who spent $2 Million to create the PAC “Maricopa Strong” which specifically targeted Arpaio with a barrage of attacks in the form of TV spots and negative mailers.

The controversial Arpaio was best known for his hard-lined approach to illegal immigration – something that runs counter to Soros’ open borders agenda. Which may explain why his contribution to Penzone’s election was the single-largest donation Soros made during the 2016 election cycle.

And clearly that investment is paying off for him in other ways as well.

Paul Penzone has become a reliable critic in opposition to the 2020 election audit currently underway in Maricopa County.

After Arizona Senate President Karen Fann demanded the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chair Jack Sellers appear before the Senate and answer questions about the possible deletion of the voting records database as well as other problems, Penzone joined Sellers in demanding the audit end “for the good of the country.”

Or perhaps for the good of Soros-funded Democrats.

Claiming he does not like “political theater,” Penzone accused the Arizona Senate of coming up with a hunch, then trying to “find a way to put up enough false information to make it valid.”

Penzone is still refusing to comply with subpoenas related to the audit claiming that the subpoena requests related to the 2020 election results would “jeopardize the entire mission” of his office.

Unless the entire mission of his office is to obstruct the audit, it is unclear what he means.

So earlier this week, Gateway Pundit reporter Jordan Conradson confronted Penzone on his way out of the Sheriff’s office and attempted to get him to explain. But Penzone claimed the questions were not valid and refused to answer them.
