Serial Offender Arrested After Being Caught On Camera

According to a report, on Thursday night, police in Virginia apprehended a man they believe is a serial sex offender after he was captured on video stalking a playground full of children.

The Fairfax County Police Department reported that at about 7 p.m. that evening, they were made aware of a guy recorded on security cameras in the Groveton neighborhood who matched the description of a previous indecent exposure suspect.

According to authorities, officers from the Franconia and Mount Vernon police districts reacted quickly to the area near Telegraph Road and spotted the fleeing suspect. Authorities said the guy started to remove items of clothes as he fled, then threw the items into the woods.

Officers didn’t take long to spot the individual and arrest him.

Fairfax resident and 35-year-old Felix Antonio Mejias Vigil was named as the suspect. Multiple sex crimes happened in Fairfax County between July and September, and police think Vigil is responsible for all of them.

On July 28, authorities were called to the adjacent Virginia Hills Swim Club due to reports of a sex offender engaging in indecent acts on a child.

He has been charged with two charges of indecent liberties with a minor under the age of 15, four counts of actual or attempted masturbating in public, and one count of providing fake identity to law police. He is now being detained without bail at an adult detention facility.

The Fairfax County Police Department has had to deal with repeat sexual predators in the public spot frequented by children before.

According to a report, at least 21 assault and sexual abuse instances occurred along the Washington and Old Dominion Trail before Juan Rodriguez Alfaro was finally jailed last year for harassment of females of all ages.

It was discovered that Alfaro was a Honduran illegal immigrant who was also sought in New York for assaulting a jogger.
