(RoyalPatriot.com)- Libertarian Senator for Kentucky, Rand Paul, is increasingly the voice of reason these days, recently slamming President Joe Biden’s relaxed approach to schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. Senator Paul told Justice with Judge Jeanine on Fox on Saturday that refusing to reopen the schools is hurting American children.
“Being at home without any instruction…for a lot of kids is a disaster,” he said.
“We have studies of private schools across the U.S. that haven’t missed a beat and have been in school without a major surge… so there is no scientific evidence to keep schools closed.” – @RandPaul pic.twitter.com/Zdqkjkevp2

Paul said what most Americans are already thinking, explaining how “most parents just aren’t capable of teaching.”
“Some are extraordinary teachers, but a lot of parents aren’t” he added. And for many reasons, too. Some parents simply aren’t around and can’t afford to take time off work to watch children during the daytime, compounding the economic problems that come with the COVID pandemic.
Paul’s comments come after President Joe Biden sided with the teachers’ unions over the debate about reopening the schools, which probably surprised nobody who knew that the two major teachers’ unions in the United States endorsed him for president.
President Biden promised to reopen most of the country’s K-8 schools in the first 100 days, but there remains no clear plan of when the nation’s schools will be fully reopened.
Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said recently that vaccinating teachers “is not a prerequisite for safe reopening schools,” potentially meaning children don’t return to their classrooms until the summer, or even later.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell slammed Biden and Congressional Democrats, escribing how efforts to send children back to school have been stopped by “rich, powerful unions that donate huge sums to Democrats and get a stranglehold over education in many communities.”
Speaking on the Senate floor on Wednesday, McConnell said that “an administration that puts facts and science first would be conducting a full-court press to open schools.”
So where is Biden on this?
Senator Paul asked during his Fox interview when teachers’ unions are “going to actually care about teaching our kids?”
“They have all these unreasonable demands even though the CDC, which is overly cautious, is saying that schools can open,” he added.
