(RoyalPatriot.com )- Popular Republican Senator for Kentucky Rand Paul has announced that he will leave YouTube for good, permanently moving over his video content to free speech platform Rumble.
In an opinion piece, Paul announced that given how half of the American public leans right, if everyone were to take their messaging to outlets that promote free exchange, then Big Tech could be crippled in a heartbeat.
Good point!
So today I take my first step toward denying my content to Big Tech,” he wrote. “Hopefully, other liberty lovers will follow.”
The news comes as other free speech-focused networks grow in popularity. GETTR, a Twitter alternative run by former President Donald Trump’s former advisor Jason Miller, has gained hundreds of thousands of additional users in recent weeks after popular podcaster Joe Rogan announced he would be moving to the platform.
In Paul’s op-ed, he said that as a libertarian-leaning Senator, he believes that private companies have the right to ban him if they want to – but that those who believe that truth “comes from disputation” and that the “marketplace of ideas is a prerequisite for innovation” should shun censors and take their content elsewhere.
Senator Paul’s criticism of Big Tech and public health officials like Dr. Anthony Fauci has gained him significant attention from Democrats and far-left news outlets and has even seen content posted on his YouTube and Twitter censored.
It sounds like this was the right move.
