NYT Columnist David Brooks Thinks Trump Might Win Now

(RoyalPatriot.com )- David Brooks, a columnist for the New York Times, forewarned on Thursday that Trump would gain from the FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence in 2024. Brooks claimed that the core message of Trump is that social elites are destroying America, which is accurate.

“What makes Donald Trump so strong?” How did he come to control one of the two major parties and win the presidency, wondered Brooks?

He claimed that tens of millions of Americans agree with Trump’s “narratives” and “strong stories,” particularly the idea that corrupt coastal elites are destroying the country.

According to this narrative, the Washington power brokers, liberal media, significant foundations, elite institutions, and awakened corporations make up the interconnected network of highly educated Americans that Trump supporters call the Regime. These people only care about themselves and are corrupt, condescending, and unethical.

He said that Trump convincingly conveys that when they want to get him, they are also going after the people.

That resonates.

According to Brooks, “highly educated metropolitan elites have evolved into a self-enclosed Brahmin class,” and “this narrative has a core of truth.” Trumpian propaganda, according to him, “transforms an ugly social gulf into a deadly conspiracy tale.”

“Trump’s political career has survived thanks to the elite’s contempt. Republicans support him more as elites condemn him more,” Brooks penned.

He said the FBI raid on Trump’s residence had brought the GOP together. A recent New York Times/Siena College poll revealed that half of the Republican voters were prepared to move past Trump, but the party backed him this week.
The preponderance of surveys, which show Trump leading his closest primary competitor by 27.8%, does not support Brooks’ depiction of the GOP and Trump’s power before the raid.

Republican primaries around the nation have been won by candidates favored by Trump, strengthening his hold on the party.

The Times columnist was also concerned that the FBI raid could increase Republican voting in the 2022 midterm elections. According to a Trafalgar Group/Convention of States Action survey, 83 percent of potential Republican voters said they were more motivated to vote in 2022 due to the F.B.I. search.

According to Brooks, the “most likely way to a full democratic meltdown” would be to charge and jail Trump during an election.

Real Clear Politics claims that Trump is ahead of Biden in a potential rematch in 2024. Many Republicans and Democrats argue that politics drove the FBI’s search of Trump.
