Newt Gingrich Accuses Pelosi Of Running A “Dictatorship”

( )- Newt Gingrich, former Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives, slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday, suggesting that she has turned the House into a “dictatorship.”

And it’s not the first time he’s said it, either.

Gingrich made the comment during an interview with Jesse Watters on his new primetime Fox News show. Discussing the freedom convoy protest in Canada, which has seen thousands of truckers come out in the street to oppose Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s vaccine mandates, Gingrich also accused the Canadian government of behaving like a dictatorship.

“The truck drivers got sick of it and of course the response, which shocked me, the Canadian government has reacted like a dictatorship and has gone all out to cause as much pain as they can,” Gingrich said.

He explained how the government said that if anybody takes gasoline or food to the truck drivers protesting in Ottawa that they would be arrested, before insisting that there are now laws preventing people from providing food and gasoline to truckers in Canada.

“You’re seeing this kind of real division everywhere…it’s the Nancy Pelosi effect,” he said.

The Nancy Pelosi Effect – that’s a term we should start using, too.

“She runs a dictatorship, it used to be called the House of Representatives, but it’s really Pelosi’s dictatorship,” he said.

Gingrich, who was a very different leading figure during his time in Congress, slammed Pelosi for forcing members of her own party to vote exactly the way she wants, no matter what the legislation contains.

Back in September last year, Gingrich made similar comments, arguing that there are barely any moderates remaining in the Democratic Party, and that all Congressional Democrats were under the thumb of Pelosi.

“Pelosi has been very tough. She runs a dictatorship. She’s been twisting arms. She’s now starting to break them,” he said at the time.
