Uncovering the Biden-China Connection

A series of photographs from 2013, recently released by the National Archives, have sparked renewed interest in the Biden family’s ties to China. The images, obtained through litigation by America First Legal, a conservative legal foundation, depict then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other high-ranking Chinese officials during the Obama-Biden administration.

These revelations come at a sensitive time, following President Biden’s full and unconditional pardon of Hunter Biden on December 1. The pardon covers various offenses, including illegal firearm possession and tax-related issues, spanning from January 1, 2014, to December 1, 2024. This timing has intensified scrutiny of the Biden family’s past interactions with foreign officials and business entities.

Contradicting Previous Statements

The emergence of these photos appears to contradict President Biden’s previous assertions of non-involvement in his son’s business affairs. The images show Joe Biden not only meeting with Chinese officials but also with Hunter’s business associates from BHR Partners, a Chinese investment firm. This includes meetings with Jonathan Li and Ming Xue, key figures in BHR Partners. The President had long insisted that he never had any involvement in Hunter’s business dealings.

These photographs support findings by the House Oversight Committee suggesting that Hunter Biden arranged meetings between his father and BHR executives during a 2013 trip to China. Furthermore, it has been revealed that Joe Biden wrote letters of recommendation for Jonathan Li’s children, as disclosed by Hunter’s former business partner and emails from Hunter’s laptop.

Calls for Further Investigation

The release of these photographs has prompted calls for increased transparency and investigation into the Biden family’s foreign engagements. Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona’s 5th Congressional District has emphasized that Hunter’s pardon does not preclude further congressional inquiry.

“Joe’s pardon of Hunter doesn’t disqualify Congress from continuing our investigation into the Biden Crime Family Syndicate. In fact, Hunter’s pardon means he waives his Fifth Amendment protections. We must have him testify under oath—he can’t hide from the truth forever,” Rep. Andy Biggs, of Arizona’s 5th congressional district said.

America First Legal, the organization responsible for obtaining these photographs, has expressed its commitment to uncovering the full extent of the Biden family’s alleged corruption. Michael Ding, America First Legal Counsel, stated their determination to continue their investigative efforts.

“Even while President Biden has pardoned his son, Hunter, for anything and everything ‘he has committed or may have committed or taken part in’ going all the way back to the year 2014, more evidence comes out each day showing how his family leveraged Joe Biden’s even longer career in public office for private gain. America First Legal will not stop fighting to uncover the full story of the Biden family’s corruption,” Michael Ding, America First Legal Counsel said.

As the controversy unfolds, the Biden-Harris Administration is reportedly withholding 182 of the 313 photographs processed by the National Archives, further fueling speculation about the nature and extent of the Biden family’s foreign connections. The release of these images and the ongoing investigations continue to raise questions about potential conflicts of interest and the intersection of personal business dealings with public office.
