Multiple Dead After Shooter Goes On Killing Spree

Reports reveal that a man went on a shooting rampage in Memphis, Tennessee, killing four people and wounding one child in a chain of sad events.

Early on Sunday morning, investigators from the Memphis Police Department discovered the body of the shooting suspect in a white Chevrolet Malibu.

During the massive manhunt, police assessed that Mavis Christian Jr. was likely armed and highly dangerous.

The Memphis Police Department said that the first incident happened after five in the afternoon when one girl and a female adult had been shot. At the site, paramedics declared the adult dead, and the girl was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Later, news spread of yet another shooting. A woman was discovered dead of a gunshot wound. Another woman was killed in what is thought to be the third incident at about 9:30 p.m.

Mavis Christian Jr., a 52-year-old black man, was identified by Memphis police as connected to the victims, but the nature of that relationship was not immediately apparent. There has been no public announcement of the victims’ identities.

The police were able to piece together evidence that pointed to Christian Jr. as being the culprit. He was regarded to be armed and highly dangerous as the search proceeded throughout the night. Multiple levels of government were engaged in the manhunt for the culprit. Based on their first findings, police are looking into the possibility that the gunshots occurred during a domestic dispute. The offender had departed each site in a white Chevy Malibu.

A local report shows the search for Christian Jr. came to an end at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday when his body was discovered in his car with a gunshot wound to the head.

The offender was immediately discovered via the combined efforts of law enforcement, the media, and the community, according to a statement released by the Memphis Police Department.
