Money And Checks Found In Walls Of Joel Osteen’s Church

( )- A massive stash of checks and money was reportedly discovered inside of a bathroom wall by a plumber who was working on the megachurch owned by televangelist Joel Osteen.

The Houston, Texas discovery was revealed on Thursday when Morning Show host George Lindsey was told about the find on November 10. A caller told the radio show host that there was a loose toilet in the wall, and when they removed a tile and went to remove the toilet, some insulation came loose and roughly 500 envelopes just fell out of the wall.

“I was like, ‘oh, wow!’” the caller said.

The caller then explained that upon discovering the huge, suspicious stash of money, they immediately contacted the property’s maintenance supervisor and turned the money into them.

Lindsey described his disbelief hearing the story, and reminded listeners that in 2014 there was a huge story about money reportedly being stolen from the church. More than $600,000 in cash and checks were stolen from the safe and were never recovered.

KPRC 2 reported that an official representing the church confirmed that the money had been discovered.

A $25,000 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers of Houston for information leading to the arrest of a potential suspect in the case.
