Legal Troubles Mount for Lohan
Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay Lohan, is currently wanted in Florida after authorities issued an arrest warrant for alleged probation violations. The warrant follows a recent assault arrest in Texas that may have breached terms of his 2022 probation agreement related to patient brokering charges in Palm Beach.
After pleading guilty to five counts of patient brokering, Lohan received four years of probation instead of jail time. His legal situation deteriorated further when he was arrested on a felony charge for “continuous violence against the family” involving his estranged wife Kate Major.
Assault Allegations and Protective Order
According to reports, Kate Major told police that Michael flipped her out of a chair during the recent incident. Law enforcement observed visible bruising on Major’s body, leading to Lohan’s arrest and subsequently an emergency protective order against him.
The protective order prohibits Lohan from harassing Major or coming within 200 feet of her residence. The couple married in 2014 but have been estranged since 2018, with their relationship marked by multiple domestic violence incidents.
“Kate Lohan has a lengthy criminal history of alcohol-related crimes and domestic violence,” stated F. Andino Reynal, apparently representing Michael Lohan.
Lohan has claimed that his estranged wife set him up and has “been threatening to get [him] violated on probation for a long time.” The ongoing disputes between the couple have continued to play out in public view, adding another chapter to the family’s troubled history.
This is not the first time Michael Lohan has faced legal troubles, as he has a history of arrests dating back years. Reynal also stated that “Kate Lohan had been living in Mr. Lohan’s Guest House,” suggesting ongoing proximity despite their estrangement.
