Lin Wood Says He’s Running, Endorsed By Michael Flynn

( )- Well, this is pretty wild. Lin Wood, the pro-Trump attorney who divides opinion even among conservatives announced on March 28 that he is preparing to campaign to replace current Republican South Carolina chairman Drew McKissick.

Nobody saw this one coming.

McKissick has been the head of the South Carolina GOP since 2017, and the campaign to replace him is likely to cause him some headaches, whether or not Wood has any realistic chance of succeeding.

Wood is controversial not just because of the multiple third-party lawsuits he filed in support of former President Donald Trump’s campaign for election integrity, but for his endorsement and support of the Q Anon theory and for directly attacking Republican members of Congress and former Vice President Mike Pence.

“A compelling reason for my decision to run for Chair of the South Carolina Party is that it is time for the leadership of the Party to recognize and appreciate the amazing Patriots stepping up to get involved in the party—this is NOT the time to take actions to exclude them,” Wood said in his statement, referencing a decision by state Republican leadership to exclude some Republicans who espouse similar theories and views as Wood.

“The current Chair, Drew McKissick, brought in a 25-year-old ‘state representative,’ appointed by the state executive director, removed the person in charge in the county, and took over,” Wood then alleged, before adding that “interference by the state has no place in this county process.”

It seems like this campaign is powered by revenge…but it’s also apparently endorsed by Lt. General Michael Flynn, the former National Security adviser targeted by Obama’s FBI during the Russia witch hunt.

“I am extremely honored to announce that a genuine American Patriot and hero, Lt. General Michael Flynn, has authorized me to publicly convey that he endorses and supports my campaign for Chair of the South Carolina Republican Party,” Wood said in his announcement.

He added that General Flynn knows his goal in South Carolina is to “only serve the members of the Republican Party, not the establishment leaders or the special interests.”

Regardless of the endorsement, however, Wood is expected to have a difficult time. McKissick was the former chairman of Senator Lindsey Graham’s campaign against Jaime Harrison, and has overseen huge efforts to maintain Republican control of several Congressional seats. He’s definitely popular.

Let’s see if former President Donald Trump has something to say about this one…
