(RoyalPatriot.com )- Last week, disgraced actor Kevin Spacey received a lifetime achievement award in Italy, just days after appearing in a UK court on charges of sexual assault.
The Museum of Cinema in Turin said it was awarding Spacey a lifetime achievement in recognition of his “persona aesthetic and authorial contribution to the development of the art of drama.”
Upon accepting the award, Space thanked the museum for having the “balls” to present him with the honor.
Spacey, who won Oscars for his performances in “American Beauty” and “The Usual Suspects,” did not directly address the allegations during the ceremony. Instead, he expressed his thanks and said he was “surely blessed and grateful and humbled.” Spacey said his “heart is very full” toward the museum for having had “le palle to invite me tonight.”
On Friday, January 13, the 63-year-old actor appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London via video link where he pleaded not guilty to seven charges of sexual assault against a man in the early 2000s.
The charges against Spacey include indecent assault, sexual assault, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. According to the complaint, the offenses took place between 2001 and 2005.
The embattled actor now faces a total of eleven charges against four separate men.
In July, Spacey pleaded not guilty at London’s Old Bailey court to four charges of sexual assault against three men between 2005 and 2013 when he was the artistic director at London’s Old Vic Theater.
Under British law, none of the victims can be publicly identified.
Last month, a New York Court dismissed a $40 million sexual misconduct lawsuit against Spacey brought by actor Anthony Rapp who alleged that Spacey targeted him when he was only 14. The judge ruled that Rapp brought the case too late for a criminal charge.
