(RoyalPatriot.com )- In its final weeks in office, the Obama administration changed decades of American policy to throw Israel under the bus with a unilateral resolution that singled out the Jewish state and abandoned the United States’ traditional nuanced stance on Israeli construction in contested areas of Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Deputy Wendy Sherman, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, and Deputy Jon Finer are all holdovers from President Obama’s State Department on President Biden’s senior national security team. President Biden, a vital ally of the United States, pledged support for Israel in the event of a military or diplomatic attack on the Jewish state during his election campaign.

Earlier today, when the African Union meeting commenced, security guards removed the Israeli delegation, seemingly at the direction of South Africa and Algeria, two of Africa’s most anti-Semitic nations. In 2021, Israel and the State of Palestine were both granted observer status at the organization; Israel had formerly had this status at the Organization of African Unity, the predecessor to the African Union. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait have observer status.
There was a U.S. delegation thanks to Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The US team, led by Assistant Secretary of State Molly Phee, also includes Johnnie Carson, a former assistant secretary who now travels as Biden’s special presidential envoy. Samantha Power, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) administrator, also brought a team of top aides with her.
While Sharon Bar-Li, the Israeli foreign ministry’s deputy director general for Africa, was harassed by security officers, Blinken’s group did nothing to intervene. Rather than supporting Israel’s illegal expulsion from the U.N., Biden and Blinken should have walked out to show they stood with their ally.
Biden, Blinken, and Sullivan said: “diplomacy was back.” The rest of the world believes in their assurances. Therefore, they pay attention to what Biden’s staff says and does. There is no such thing as an African Union secret. In light of the expulsion of Israeli monitors from the African Union, Biden’s inactivity shows that he, Blinken, and Sullivan endorse rejectionism.
This will not contribute to peace and make President Biden more hostile to Israel than President Obama, Carter, or Eisenhower.
