Joe Biden Collapses In New Polling Numbers

( )- A number of polls conducted this week reveal that the disastrous bungling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan has caused President Biden’s already dropping approval numbers to nosedive.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Tuesday showed a staggering seven percent drop in a week. Biden is now at 46 percent approval – his lowest recorded by Ipsos since taking office.

Meanwhile, Rasmussen Reports shows that Biden’s approval rating has dropped seventeen points from where it was in January – also the lowest approval Rasmussen recorded since Biden took office. In its poll, Rasmussen found the same 46 percent approval for the president’s job performance while a staggering 53 percent disapprove. That is the highest disapproval number for Biden ever.

On Monday, the new poll from the Trafalgar group on Biden’s handling of Afghanistan found that the vast majority – 69.3 percent – disapprove of the job Biden has done. Only 23.1 percent approved of Biden’s Afghan withdrawal, and 7.5 percent had no opinion.

Among Republicans, 88.8 percent disapprove of Biden’s bungling withdrawal and only 7.1 percent approve. Independents disapprove by an overwhelming 74.8 percent with only 19.8 percent approving.

What’s surprising about the Trafalgar poll is that even 48.2 percent of Democrats disapprove of Biden’s Afghan pull-out. But Democrats are more forgiving, with 39.8 percent approving of Biden’s Afghan strategy.

The Federalist/Susquehanna Polling and Research poll conducted between August 16 and August 18 found that only 38 percent approved of the job Biden is doing and 51 percent disapproved. This poll also found that only 27 percent of Americans think the country is headed in the right direction while the overwhelming majority (60 percent) think it is headed in the wrong direction. This includes 56 percent of Democrats and 58 percent of independents.

If things continue as they have, it is likely those disapproval numbers will continue to climb. Biden’s blame-shifting and defensiveness, his stunning disinterest over the horrific scenes of Afghans falling to their deaths, and his once again scampering away from the White House to spend a long weekend in Delaware will do nothing to allay concerns Americans have over his ability to discharge his duties.
