A group of Democratic senators have publicly demanded Joe Biden’s resignation following his poor debate with Donald Trump.
Biden claimed that his weakness and struggles throughout the debate were to blame, and he claimed that a cold and a “bad night” were to blame. However, his poor night might become an irreparable catastrophe due to a string of blunders committed by his team and Biden himself, which might propel Trump to the presidency.
Biden overestimated his abilities, having “won” debates in the past and even against Trump. But these “wins” were declared by partisan media who were eager to declare a victory for a fellow traveler. All Biden had to do to “win” this particular debate was show up and look alert, facts be damned.
He couldn’t even do that.
The ordinarily friendly left-leaning media couldn’t ignore how feeble, befuddled, and incompetent Biden is.
The overconfident Biden left his hotel a half-hour late and arrived with hardly any prep time to spare. This caused Biden to not know which way was up, and he was often caught staring sideways with his mouth agape, giving the impression that he was out of it. His garbled words left no doubt that he was not up to the task of leading the country.
Tens of millions of people saw the debate breakdown, and even Trump was taken aback by Biden’s performance. Trump skipped the after-debate spin room to avoid giving the impression he was kicking an old man while he was down.
Biden’s team came up with a strategy to dismiss the debate as a temporary setback, emphasizing that they can bounce back from setbacks.
Nancy Pelosi, however, asked the appropriate question- was this a one-off or a chronic condition?
On Wednesday, after Democratic governors sought a meeting with Biden, the president finally met with them at the White House. While publicly demonstrating their support, they confided in the president their concerns about perhaps losing Maine, New Mexico, and Colorado. It was being considered that Vice President Kamala Harris may legally use Biden’s campaign war chest.
Biden’s ‘poor night’ might turn into an irreparable catastrophe if he and his team make any more mistakes, which would hand the presidency to Trump.
