Danone North America, the parent company of International Delight, has acknowledged the issues while attempting to downplay serious health risks. A representative for the company confirmed they are aware of a “texture issue” affecting the recalled products.
“While we know this is disappointing for our creamer fans, testing data has confirmed that this is not a food safety issue,” the Danone representative stated. The company maintains that the voluntary recall was initiated “out of an abundance of caution” while they address the quality concerns.
The recall affects products distributed across Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and West Virginia. No termination date has been set for the recall.
The news comes amidst a wave of recalls of various products across the country, ranging from broccoli in Walmart to meat products and other shelf-stable products across a multitude of supermarkets.
