SUV Targeted by Gunfire

The SUV endured several bullet impacts, but fortunately, the driver emerged unscathed. This unprovoked attack has accentuated ongoing public safety concerns surrounding outlaw motorcycle groups in the region. The shooter, described as a White male with a medium build, was last seen wearing the notorious “Outlaws MC” jacket.

The Florida Highway Patrol quickly called for public assistance in identifying the shooter. This plea for aid underscores the grave threat posed by outlaw motorcycle gangs, notorious in Florida for their violent and criminal tendencies.

History of Crime and Violence

The Outlaws Motorcycle Club, known for its aggressive presence in southwest Florida, has a deeply entrenched history with law enforcement. Between 1981 and 2003, five significant criminal trials involving the Outlaws Motorcycle Club were conducted in the Tampa Courthouse, marking a notorious chapter in the club’s history.

The Outlaws MC’s former leader, Harry Bowman, remains a testament to the club’s criminal roots. Bowman’s past crimes, including murder and racketeering, landed him on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list until his capture and subsequent life sentence.
