Governor’s Controversial Admission
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has stirred controversy by publicly admitting to housing an illegal immigrant at his residence. The Democratic Governor’s revelation came during a recent event where he disclosed details about the individual’s living arrangements and immigration status.
“Tammy [Murphy] and I were talking about – I don’t want to get into too much detail, but there is someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point that they are trying to get it to. And we said, you know what? Let’s have her live at our house above our garage,” Governor Murphy said.
Murphy’s statement took a provocative turn when he directly challenged federal immigration enforcement efforts.
The Governor boldly declared, “And good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her.”
That sounds like a challenge – and Trump likes a challenge.
This open defiance of federal immigration laws has drawn sharp criticism from both political opponents and law enforcement officials.
Republican State Assemblyman Erik Peterson responded to Murphy’s admission, stating, “The Governor thinks he’s above the law.” This sentiment echoes concerns about the potential abuse of power and disregard for federal immigration policies.
Tom Homan, the newly appointed Border Czar under the current administration, has vowed to take action in response to Governor Murphy’s admission. Homan, known for his strict stance on illegal immigration, expressed his intention to investigate the matter thoroughly.
“I think the Governor is pretty foolish,” Homan said. “I got note of it. Won’t let it go. We’ll look into it. And if he’s knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal alien, that’s a violation of Title VIII of the United States Code 1324.”
ICE might soon be making a quick stop to Governor Murphy’s garage…
