Governor Orders Investigation Into Teacher Who Took Child To Drag Show

( )- Texas Governor Greg Abbott last week ordered the Texas Education Agency to investigate the claims made by a Houston father that a teacher took his teenage son to a drag show.

The claims were made by Houston resident Sadrach Terwogt, a single dad of two, during a June 9 board meeting for the Houston Independent School District.

In the clip, posted on Twitter by Libs of TikTok, Terwogt recounted to the school board that an LGBT teacher had taken his 16-year-old son to a drag show in 2019 in which one of the “performers” was a convicted pedophile.

Terwogt accused the district of failing to investigate the matter, adding that he went to his son’s school the day after the incident demanding answers and nothing happened.

Over the weekend, Governor Abbott retweeted the video from Libs of TikTok, announcing that he had directed the Texas Education Agency to investigate Terwogt’s claims.

In a statement, the Houston Independent School District said it was aware of the allegations of misconduct by the teacher Terwogt named, adding that the incident took place in 2019 and the teacher in question is no longer employed by the district, having left in April of that year.

The Texas Education Agency confirmed that the 2019 incident is under “jurisdictional review,” but offered no further information on the matter.
