American football punter Drue Chrisman came face to face with the Washington Commanders after mocking the team for requesting that he delete a video of his tryout with them, which he had posted on social media.
During his recent tryout with Washington Commanders, Chrisman decided to film his “job interview” to later tell his fans about the otherwise unseen insights of the sport.
The athlete filmed most parts of his day in a usual vlogging manner with background music and crispy captions. He showed himself having breakfast and leaving for his trials in the hope that he would finally join a professional NFL team for the first time after 2022.
He kept on recording himself while checking his weight, preparing for the tryouts, warming up, punting, eating bananas after the trials, and eventually having the post-tryout meal. The video ended on a disappointing note when he was informed that he could not clear the trials as he headed back to his home, where he received a warm welcome from his daughter.
Even when he was not selected, he had a nice complication with his activities during the trip, which he decided to show to his fans with the caption “my day in Washington,” who received it warmly as the video attracted 1.6 million views on X only.
It was at this moment that Chrisman received a message from the Commanders’ legal wing that told him to remove posts related to the team. Instead of complying straightaway, he decided to bring the matter in front of his fans on social media as he posted the screenshot of the message, tagged the team, and mocked the NFL as a “No Fun League.”
He later published another uncut video from that day, which showed most parts of his day in Washington without editing, as he said that this is how his videos would look if he did not edit them.
Chrisman did not stop here and took further digs at the Commanders in his subsequent posts, one of which had the caption that the only solution for the Commanders now was to sign him up. The punter has still not deleted the controversial video from his social media.
Chrisman, who has played college football at Ohio State, posts small and seemingly funny videos across his social media platforms. In 2021, he was picked up by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent.
