(RoyalPatriot.com )- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said Thursday that several men from Michigan had been charged with running a drug and gun ring and selling illegal firearm conversion kits.
According to reports, a statement from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan said that 11 men between the ages of 19 and 32 were charged with drug and gun crimes, including trafficking “switches” that make some semi-automatic pistols fully automatic.
In his statement, U.S. Attorney Mark Totten said that five of the eleven men were caught in raids on Thursday morning in Benton Harbor, Grand Rapids, St. Joseph, and Port St. Lucie, Florida.
The USAO said that around 200 police officers carried out the arrests and search warrants because of drug and gun trafficking. This included selling methamphetamine, conspiring to own or transfer a machine gun, and having guns while a convicted felon.
A report reveals the criminal complaint on March 7, 2022, shows federal agents found two packages sent from China to a Michigan address that once belonged to Quincy Bowman. When the agents opened the package, they found ten switches inside. The package was addressed to “Brayden Bowman.” After getting a search warrant for the house, the police detained Bowman. Messages on his phone linked him to other packages from China that were the same size and weight as the ones that contained the switches that were seized.
Craig Kailimai, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Detroit Field Division, said
the Detroit FBI led the investigation with help from several local, state, and federal agencies, such as the Michigan State Police Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET),
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the United States Postal Inspection Service were also involved.
A statement from the USAO says that the U.S. Marshals are still looking for one of the eleven men named Eric Williams.
The FBI did a legitimate job for a change. Kudos.
