Donald Trump Surges In Key Swing State Ahead Of 2024

( )- Former President Donald Trump hasn’t even announced his intention to run for president again in 2024 yet, but the polls are already showing him in with a fantastic chance of winning.

The former president just reached a historic high approval rating according to a poll by Mediacom and the Des Moines Register.

The poll comes before Trump is expected to host a rally in Iowa on Saturday, which indicates a likely run for the presidency in 2024. However, it remains highly unlikely that he will use the event to announce his intention to run owing to the campaign finance law complications.

Trump famously turned Iowa red in 2016, and President Joe Biden is currently struggling to maintain any kind of popularity in the state as he struggles to control inflation. President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have increased consistently over the last few months, reaching 53% in the most recent Iowa poll.

It’s the highest approval rating that former President Trump has ever received from Mediacom and the Des Moines Register, with the most recent poll coming in March of 2020. At that point, Trump’s popularity in the state was at 51% and was also a record high at the time.

Pollster J. Ann Selzer expressed her shock about the numbers, saying that she didn’t foresee a day when Trump would be “10 points more popular with Iowa Republicans than the venerable Chuck Grassley.”

Donald Trump easily won the state of Iowa in 2016 by almost 10 points but saw his margin shrink slightly in 2020. Polling now shows, however, that Biden is becoming increasingly unpopular not just in Iowa but elsewhere, too.

Let’s see how the rally goes on Saturday. If it’s as lively as the 2016 Make America Great Again rallies, then the Democrats should probably start to worry…
