Donald Trump Asked To Launch Effort To Impeach Joe Biden

( )- The tables have turned, and high-profile Republicans are now calling on former President Donald Trump to assist with impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden over his horrific handling of the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

The Daily Beast, a far-left blog that poses as a news outlet, wrote that the former president has spoken with a number of Republican legislators on the matter so far. According to the report, Trump has been asked to publicly throw his weight behind calls for Biden to be impeached or for the 25th Amendment to be invoked. Under the amendment, Biden would be removed as president and replaced with Vice President Kamala Harris owing to his clear cognitive decline and inability to properly fulfill the role of president.

A spokesperson for the former president has denied the reports, however – even though two Republican sources have confirmed the calls.

Here’s what could be going on here. Former President Trump might be on board with having Biden impeached, but may know that by publicly throwing his weight behind the campaign it may discourage Democrats in Congress who support his impeachment from voting with Republicans. Without the support of some Democrats, impeachment will be impossible.

It may also be the case that former President Trump wants Biden to stay in office so he can go head to head with him again in 2024 – presumably when Biden has made so many more errors that the American people can no longer be fooled by him.

On Tuesday, Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Biggs said that they are calling on the resignation of President Joe Biden “most somberly.” Louisiana Republican Rep. Clay Higgins also said that Biden’s resignation is the “appropriate step prior to pursuing impeachable offenses.”

Trump may not have publicly endorsed impeachment (yet) but he has called on Biden to “apologize to the whole world” for the damage he has done.
