CNN Analysis Reveals Harris Campaign Sharing “Misleading” Trump Content

Less than two months away from the highly anticipated presidential election and the Harris campaign has been posting “misleading” content related to her rival Donald Trump.

According to a recent CNN analysis, messages put on Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign social media account repeatedly edits clips of Trump’s public comments to present him in a negative light. These inaccurate representations are viewed by the account’s 1.3 million followers.

The mainstream media outlet’s analysis considered multiple posts made to the campaign account during the last month, fact checking presentations of the GOP campaign and accusing the Democratic campaign of manipulating videos with “false or misleading” edits. Every post analyzed by CNN had been highlighted by a separate social media account known as @KamalaHQLies, which calls out the Harris campaign for misinformation.

One example included in the analysis was a post from August 17, featuring an edited clip of Trump addressing the public at a rally in Pennsylvania. But the clip was adjusted to portray the GOP nominee seeming like he did not know where he was. Trump was featured as addressing supporters as a state, which he said was North Carolina.

The Harris campaign posted the video with the caption, “Donald Trump is lost and confused.” But the full context of the clip includes the understanding that the former president was pointing to a group of fans from North Carolina who were at the Pennsylvania rally. Despite the inaccurate representation from the Harris campaign, Trump was not, in fact, confused about where he was.

In another clip, the Democratic campaign suggested that Trump made the same mistake, sharing a video in which he addressed Pennsylvania voters during an Arizona event. This post claimed that Trump is “declining rapidly” since he “again” appeared to forget where he was.

In reality, though, Trump was addressing immigration at the time of the clip in question—a top issue for Arizona voters. Pennsylvania was only mentioned as an example of one town that had 2,000 percent increase of immigrants appear under the leadership of Harris. He then called on the state to “remember this” come Election Day.
