Amazon Is Paying For “Abortion Tourism” For Its Employees

(RoyalPatriot.com )- Amazon stated on Monday that it would reimburse up to $4,000 in travel expenses for employees who wish to travel out of state to obtain an abortion if they work for the company.

The news was delivered during a staff meeting on Monday and involves a variety of medically related travel charges and the ability to claim abortions as travel expenses, among other things.

Under the new policy, if an employee could not have an abortion within 100 miles of her home, Amazon would reimburse her up to $4,000 in travel expenses to obtain one elsewhere. Other activities that would be eligible for travel reimbursement include acquiring access to cellular gene therapies and cardiology-related services, among other activities.

According to The Daily Wire, American Principles Project President Terry Schilling said he was not surprised by the decision.

Schilling said that it comes as no surprise to see Amazon aiding in efforts to bypass pro-life legislation. Since 2011, they have been carrying out the wishes of the progressive left, including banning conservative books from their platform and working with the notoriously partisan Southern Poverty Law Center to prevent donations to right-leaning organizations, among other things.

The travel expense benefit, which would include reimbursement for abortion-related travel, would be available to “covered dependents” who are covered by Premera or Aetna insurance and U.S. employees.

Amazon employees, on the whole, tend to support liberal candidates, with Democrats receiving 85 percent of their donations during the 2020 election year.

With money that at least in part came from her interest in Amazon, MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, contributed a record $275 million to Planned Parenthood, setting a new record for the organization.

Schilling said that Amazon is pushing its woke agenda further, financing the abortion industry even as they erroneously label it as a ‘non-life-threatening surgery.’ Republican leaders should at the very least refrain from offering any special privileges to a company that is working against the interests of American families.

Amazon, one of the country’s largest private employers, is not the first firm to express its support for “abortion tourism,” a term that refers to traveling to receive an abortion, which results in the termination of the life of an unborn child.

Early this year, Yelp and Citigroup declared that they would reimburse their employees for the travel expenses incurred by employees to obtain abortions.

Earlier this month, Yelp’s Chief Diversity Officer, Miriam Warren, said that the freedom to regulate your reproductive health and whether or when you want to grow your family is highly crucial to being able to be successful in the workplace.
Citigroup updated its rules in March to provide reimbursement for travel expenses incurred by investment bank workers to obtain abortions.

The bank declared:

“In response to changes in reproductive healthcare regulations in some jurisdictions across the United States, we will begin providing travel perks in 2022 to allow access to necessary resources.”
