Adam Schiff Says Dianne Feinstein Is Fine With Him Running

(RoyalPatriot.com )- Elex Michaelson of Fox 11 Los Angeles grilled Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) about his announcement to compete for Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat.

The 89-year-old Democrat from California has not yet declared her plans regarding reelection in 2024, which caused Michaelson to speculate that Schiff might have inside track information.

Feinstein “has not made a public announcement yet. I’m wondering if she’s made a private announcement with you. Have you spoken to her before doing this?” Michaelson asked Schiff.

Schiff deflected, Schiff-like, with an answer that wasn’t really an answer.

“Yes, I’ve spoken to her a number of times, including within the last 24 to 48 hours, to keep her abreast of what I’m doing every step of the way,” Schiff replied

Schiff said while he was a senior Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, she had the position in the Senate. They’ve collaborated closely for years, and he wanted to be sure that everything he did was considerate of her and the service she provides.

“And so, yes, I have kept her apprized, including very recently, of my intention to announce the campaign,” Schiff said, not at all addressing the question of him having inside information about Feinstein’s plans.

“So what did she say to you when you informed her you were going to run?” Michaelson continued.

After a long-winded non-answer, Schiff finally said that she had not yet decided on her own intentions and would disclose them when she was prepared to do so.

He said he believes she has earned the right to go at her own pace. He noted that Feinstein seemed fine with his announcement.  Without her approval, he wouldn’t be pursuing her seat.

Michaelson pushed, “So would you run against her if it were necessary?”

Schiff went right back into slimy politician mode:

“I don’t want to talk about hypotheticals. I want to make sure, frankly, everything I do is in lockstep with Senator Feinstein. And that’s why I’m going to continue to stay in touch with her. But I just have the greatest regard for her. And I would be proud to continue that legacy,” Schiff replied.

Most analysts agree that Schiff will be running for senator regardless of what Feinstein does. It’s why he announced. He knows Feinstein is not running; if she does, she is vulnerable, considering her cognitive decline.
